LSIBF’s Staff The Recipient of 2009 UMS Young Researcher Award

In recognition of outstanding achievement and to stimulate quality research among researchers in Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), the university’s Center for Research and Innovation launched a new annual award in 2009. There are three categories of this annual award:

(A)  Expert Researcher

(B)  Researcher Award

(C) Young Researcher Award

These awards are open to all Schools, Centers, and Centers of Excellence in the university. Winners in each category received cash prize, plaques, and certificates of participation.  The awards were conferred to researchers based on their potential impact in their respective areas of research. Among the evaluation criteria employed by the selection panel are research excellence shown for the past three years, research projects that were conducted in Malaysia, doctoral research was not considered, and the winner should not be conferred any awards in the same category for a duration of three years.

Labuan School of International Business and Finance (LSIBF) submitted two applications for the Young Researcher Award category. It was another proud moment for LSIBF when Mr. Hanudin Amin was selected among the many hopefuls to receive the award last year. The prize consisted of MYR3000.00, a plaque, and a certificate of participation. Hanudin’s research profile is available here and he also maintains his research blog.
