Kian-Ping LIM

 

 

 

Kian-Ping Lim formally joined Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) as a Lecturer in January 2002, after receiving his Master of Science (Financial Economics) from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). After serving the university for 3 years, he was promoted to Senior Lecturer. In the same year, Kian-Ping Lim received a staff scholarship from UMS to pursue his PhD in Monash University Australia.

Prior to taking his 4-year study leave (15 October 2005 to 14 October 2009), Kian-Ping Lim has taught Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Introduction to Financial Economics, Introduction to Econometrics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Management Science and Quantitative Analysis, and Economics Research Methods at the undergraduate level in Labuan School of International Business and Finance. Besides teaching commitments, he has been involved in university's administration, with appointments such as the founding managing editor of Labuan Bulletin of International Business and Finance, deputy organizing chair of International Conference in Economics and Finance 2005, and coordinator for two programmes in the school- International Marketing and International Financial Economics, which offer the Bachelor of International Marketing with Honours and Bachelor of International Finance with Honours (International Financial Economics), respectively.

Since joining UMS, Kian-Ping Lim has been actively involved in research in the areas of macroeconomics, financial economics and financial econometrics. His research interests include the applications of non-linear techniques, price behavior, market efficiency and market integration, with a focus on the Asian stock markets. His papers have been published (or accepted for publication) in, among others, Applied Economics, Applied Economics Letters, Applied Financial Economics, Applied Financial Economics Letters, Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, Economics Bulletin, Economics Letters, International Review of Financial Analysis, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money, Journal of Economic Surveys, Journal of Emerging Market Finance, Macroeconomic Dynamics, Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and Its Applications, Singapore Economic Review and Studies in Economics and Finance.
